Ahrefs.

Described as an all-in-one SEO toolset, Ahrefs helps to improve all aspects of SEO on your website and offers insight into your competitors too. The tools offered are site audits, site explorers, keywords explorers, content explorers and rank trackers. Their website also has a blog that offers useful advice and information all about SEO.

AHrefs offers a 7 day trial for just $7 (£5.10) on Lite and Standard packages.

SEMrush.

Another all-in-one tool, offering a wide range of features, categorising them to allow you to focus on specific areas of interest (SEO, content, market research, advertising, SMM & SERM). This is a great tool if you’re interested in digital marketing or looking to focus on a specific area.

SEMrush offers 3 packages with monthly payments of:

  • Pro $119.95 (£87.41)
  • Guru $229.95 (£167.56)
  • Business $449.95 (£327.88)

Discounts are available if you pay annually.

For an additional cost, you can add extra users to your package.

Google Keyword Tool.

This tool focuses on keywords and helps you to find the right ones. When planning content/ your website, you can type your keywords into Google Keyword, the tool will analyse it for you and show you how popular the word is and any alternatives that may be more successful.

It’s free to use and a great tool if you’re starting a website or business. Be sure to check out all of Google’s other free SEO tools too.

Keyword Surfer.

A Chrome extension; similar to Google Keyword, which again focuses on keywords. A keyword search will reveal keyword suggestions, related terms, visibility metrics and on-page data. There is also a content editor feature that can help you when creating your content.

Another useful and free tool to take advantage of.

Moz Keyword Explorer.

Does more than what it says on the tin. As well as a keyword SEO tool, Moz also offers a variety of other SEO tools (Keyword Explorer, Link Explorer, MozBar, MozCast, Free Domain Analysis, My Online Presence). Moz is a free SEO tool and perfect for those who are starting out their SEO journey.

Moz Pro is an extension to Moz Keyword Explorer, it’s a paid upgrade and offers more features and tools to the free version. They offer a generous 30 day free trial, allowing you to try it out before subscribing. The paid packages are priced as followed:
