One of these fantastic individuals is Mark Bucknell, Full Stack Developer and Director of Built With Code.
Specialising in mobile and web applications, he works closely with small and large businesses to deliver apps that truly reflect and answer his clients’ needs.
Mark has over a decade of experience when it comes to crafting incredible things with code, working with a wide range of organisations, such as social services, power stations and a superyacht company.
His proactive approach and drive have also seen the entrepreneur and code enthusiast establish CodePen Hull, a regular meetup for developers to share skills, knowledge and make meaningful connections with like-minded people.
“I first created CodePen as a way to push myself out of my comfort zone and get to know people,” Mark tells us. “There had been developer meetups in the past, but nothing that was ongoing. After joining the C4DI community, I noticed there was a definite need for a regular event that focused on all things code.”
Their latest event in May saw 50 people rock up to listen to developer discussions and network with new people. In the future, Mark hopes to make the monthly evening of talks and pizza bigger and better.
“We’re now looking at our ninth event and I’m excited to see how CodePen evolves.”
Collaborating with Mark has allowed us to have an in-depth technical edge when it comes to delivering quality, functioning websites, web apps and mobile applications.
“I think collaboration enables us to produce a more well-rounded, polished product,” Mark enthuses.
“What’s more, as a freelancer, it’s awesome to have someone else to bounce ideas off when working on projects. Whilst I very much think in terms of ‘code’, Matt can take a look at something I’m working on and flip it around to make it work even better.”
