The brief

New Music Biennial was a free music festival commissioned for the Hull 2017 UK City of Culture year and was broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

We were tasked with developing the unique identity and festival material to promote the festival.

Our solution

Taking inspiration from the diverse, abstract and cultural music on offer at the festival, the identity we created portrayed this perfectly, so much so that the first version we designed was chosen straight away.

The identity system included bold colours, patterns and abstract shapes to really enforce the vibe of the festival and give the audience a feel for what it would be like before they’ve even got there.
