IT Consultants Just Gilbey Ltd recently approached us to redesign their website.
After addressing issues with their current site and researching the IT industry, we came up with a bright, clean design with eye-catching animations that allows the company to be easily noticed in their competitive market.
We spoke with David Gilbey, Director of Just Gilbey Ltd, to discover more about his experience with Mattix Design.
What made you decide to redesign your website?
David: I felt that we had quickly outgrown our old website. It was a one-pager that gave a general overview of our services, but I wanted to provide customers with a little more detail about what we offer.
I am also aware that expanding on our services in this way – i.e. detailing them on separate web pages – gives us a higher chance of ranking on Google and connecting with potential clients.

Why did you choose Mattix Design?
We had previously seen Matt’s incredible work and were not only impressed by the design and visuals, but also by Mattix Design’s style of working.
Another bonus is that the team were category finalists twice in last year’s Hull Digital Awards, so we knew that our brand was in safe hands.

As a client, do you think it’s important to be involved in this way?
Absolutely! It’s wonderful to feel a part of the design process because it’s your business, at the end of the day.
Frequent updates gave us peace of mind that we’d be happy with the final product – no nasty surprises!
Mattix became an extension of our team, offering us advice along the way and explaining every creative decision made.
For example, we have chosen some graphics and animations to accompany our services pages. Matt explained that by avoiding stereotypical and overused stock photos, Just Gilbey could really stand out from other IT companies.
It’s all about making it more engaging for customers.
Did you face any challenges when redesigning your website?
The process was fairly straightforward in terms of design.
However, going through a redesign forced us to really take a look at Just Gilbey and what we do. It wasn’t only a redesign, it was a repositioning of our business.
To ensure that customers know exactly what they were getting, we refined our offering to four core services.
Matt reflected this perfectly, with an easy-to-follow User Journey that flows throughout the whole thing. Now, all potential clients need to do is effortlessly swipe through our site to find out exactly what we can do and how we do it.
What’s next for Just Gilbey?
We’re so pleased with the final website and have already seen a boost in website traffic.
Mattix has advised us to publish a regular blog to continue this influx of visitors, as well as engage with customers on social media. Thanks to Matt’s connections, we have been put in contact with other trusted professionals that can give us additional help with building our digital presence.
