Mattix Design Ltd has teamed up with design agency TH3 Design Ltd, as well as Design Hull and the Centre for Digital Innovation (C4DI) to host a regular gathering that promises insightful talks, panel discussions and interviews with industry experts and creative companies.
Located in Hull’s vibrant Fruit Market and cultural quarter, the gold-cladded building is the ideal venue for the DesignMeetup. Home to a number of tech startups, marketing agencies and creative enterprises, as well as software and hardware experts, the DesignMeetup is bound to add value and offer support to the thriving community space.

“The idea for the DesignMeetup was born out of my desire to bring together a collective of people fascinated by design,” Matt Wildbore, Director of Mattix Design explains.
“Our goal is to not only link up designers with like-minded individuals but also educate those outside of the industry and give them a better understanding of the value of design. The event is for everyone: designers, students, businesses and those just generally fascinated by the art form.”
The DesignMeetup aims to include a wide variety of disciplines, from web design, user experience and user interface to print and graphic design.
“I’m extremely excited for the launch of the DesignMeetup,” Tom Hurt, Director of TH3 Design enthuses.
“It’s going to be great to see Hull’s creative community come together to share their thoughts and experiences.”

Tom is an award-winning digital designer, boasting over fifteen years of commercial experience and working with a number of high-profile clients, such as Citroën, the NHS, Domino’s Pizza, Wykeland Group, Pizza Express and Humberside Police.
“We’re keen to mix it up at each and every meetup,” Matt continues.
“Whilst we’re excited to invite some notable people to the C4DI and hear their stories, we want to make it as interactive as possible and also include workshops, discussions and demonstrations.”
Design Hull, an online community that unites designers and agencies across the city, is also firmly behind the meet. Chris Hampshire, Founder of Design Hull and Lead Designer at Eyeweb, has been working closely with the DesignMeetup team to spread the word to every creative in the local area and beyond.
“It’s not all about professional designers. We want everyone with an interest in design to come along, share their knowledge and discover something new. The DesignMeetup is about feeling inspired, encouraged and celebrating the world of design,” Matt adds.
